HOW TO MAKE YOUR BED LIKE A GENTLEMAN

MAKING BEDDER CHOICES

A simple step to starting a productive day. Making my bed is one of the first things I do every morning. Sure, it's hardly any type of accomplishment, but psychologically it gets you ready to be a 'doer' each day. And, of course, it makes your room look like the throne it should.

You don't need 9 throw pillows either. I have 2 Euro pillows (those big square things), that mini square pillow in front, and then the 2 sleeping pillows. That's it. This is how I make the bed each and every day. I may be a bit more OCD than most, but you get the general idea. You don't really need any throw pillows. There are several different types of looks that can achieve a worthy look.

Minimalist: This is for folks who don't want any kind of pillows other than the ones they actually rest their head on. And you save time in the morning by not having to spend an extra 9 minutes figuring out the proper throw pillow formation.

Use those extra 9 minutes wisely. Extra pillows aren't for everyone. At least a minimal look like this looks clean and intentional. But if you're debating, then go for at least 3 non-head resting pillows.

A nice option for the non-throw pillow guy (or gal) is having a coverlet or quilt laid across the end of the bed. It keeps with the minimalist design, but adds a touch of class. You're saying "Hey... I know what I'm doing." That's a good thing.

Below are some setups to stay away from. If you're going to go the pillow poppin' route, then do it with some style. Just having one or two extra pillows does not a bed make. That's not pillow poetry - it's just real.

1 pillow? It may be fine if you are 6 and sleep in a bed that is pretending to be a race car.

2 pillows? That just screams boring and unimaginative. Don't be like this.
